I went to China during the holidays with my family. I went to many places, but I remember climbing the Great Wall of China most clearly. It is 6000 kilometres long. Luckily, there is a tunnel whith boat-like things inside which is hooked onto metal hooks that moves with the belt wich carried us up. After that,we had to walk. The stairs were very steep and hard to climb. We walked untill our legs ached. As I was climbing,I saw crowds of hawkers selling goodies and souveniers. The hawkers only have a piece of cloth before them with goodies on them as there is little land. There are 'zhong guo jie's and many other little things and souveniers such as bracelets and 'xiang bao's which is bags in many shaps and sizes stuffed with sweet smelling grass. There are also many skilled photogrphers who take photos of you standing at the Great Wall.We sat down to rest and I bought some souveniers to give to my friends. After a long and tiring climb, we finally reach the end. I took my photos and even get a badge with my face and the Great Wall made from photographs. Finally, we climb down. The journey is even more difficult than going up because, as I said before, the steps are steep and you felt that you will tumble down any time. However, we use less effort coming down.Soon, we arrived at the line-up for the 'boats'. There were many people and we had to wait a long time. Now came the exciting part. The boat can only carry one person and when going down, there is no hooks and you just slid down. Also because there is very steep parts, you coud actually control the speed by pulling the brake!!The ride was thrilling. Sometimes it is smooth and you coud even let go of the brake. Other times you go so fast that you feel like shooting off the track and you must pull the brakes hard.I was tired but happy that day. I hope I could go there again sometime.
