A Friend I Can Count On
When troubles come a callin’As those gremlins often do,And my spirit keeps on fallin’Till I feel low down and blue… When I look around for comfort,Someone quickly jumps to mind,One who always will support me,And whose words are always kind. Who will make my mood feel lighter,Who’ll help beat my troubles back,He/She makes the sun shine brighterAnd gets my spirit back on track. Who helps the road seem straighter,And helps me get around each bend,Who makes each day seem greater,And that someone is you, my friend. By Joanna Fuchs posted by Vivian at Saturday, July 28, 2007
Moments in Life
Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile. Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go;be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do. May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying. Don't count the years-count the memories........... posted by Vivian at Saturday, July 28, 2007
Promises Made~By Christopher
Yesterday's goals, dim memories. Dark saddened eyes, blurring with tears. Painful scars borne; Love's history. Futures crumble when doubt appears. No brightly lit hope envisioned, When following after harsh words. Hurt soul splits in twain, partitioned. Swooned by appeal - when numbness lured. Apologies made, never bought. Price paid turned out far too costly. Though never known what would be wrought -Must walk into the night softly. One wish, only to be released. Granted - now receive this token.Words written in rhyme, love's deceased. When promises made . . . were broken. posted by Vivian at Saturday, July 28, 2007

I went to China during the holidays with my family. I went to many places, but I remember climbing the Great Wall of China most clearly. It is 6000 kilometres long. Luckily, there is a tunnel whith boat-like things inside which is hooked onto metal hooks that moves with the belt wich carried us up. After that,we had to walk. The stairs were very steep and hard to climb. We walked untill our legs ached. As I was climbing,I saw crowds of hawkers selling goodies and souveniers. The hawkers only have a piece of cloth before them with goodies on them as there is little land. There are 'zhong guo jie's and many other little things and souveniers such as bracelets and 'xiang bao's which is bags in many shaps and sizes stuffed with sweet smelling grass. There are also many skilled photogrphers who take photos of you standing at the Great Wall.We sat down to rest and I bought some souveniers to give to my friends. After a long and tiring climb, we finally reach the end. I took my photos and even get a badge with my face and the Great Wall made from photographs. Finally, we climb down. The journey is even more difficult than going up because, as I said before, the steps are steep and you felt that you will tumble down any time. However, we use less effort coming down.Soon, we arrived at the line-up for the 'boats'. There were many people and we had to wait a long time. Now came the exciting part. The boat can only carry one person and when going down, there is no hooks and you just slid down. Also because there is very steep parts, you coud actually control the speed by pulling the brake!!The ride was thrilling. Sometimes it is smooth and you coud even let go of the brake. Other times you go so fast that you feel like shooting off the track and you must pull the brakes hard.I was tired but happy that day. I hope I could go there again sometime.
